Personality

Aloe usually does not like getting into situations that do not concern her. She appears to not care much for others, as she ignores fights and wrong doings of others and victims.
Due to this, she does not possess many or any friends. Her only real concern is herself. Often getting annoyed when someone is constantly following and talking to her.
However, after joining Hawkin's crew, she shows more concern for her fellow mates and her Captain.

She does, however, have a softer side as she is willing to help kids when they fall and get hurt, but it is not often she shows it. With her medical abilities she does help others when they are sick and hurt, if she doesn't find it too troublesome and if not, it is not for free.

She also seems to be a bit mischievous as she enjoys tricking and taking advantage of bandits and pirates she comes across. Telling them false information of treasure or having them pay her for fake fortune-telling, feeding them simply what they want to hear.

Aloe does not appear to be a coward, but she doesn't like taking on enemies who she knows are stronger than her and give her a lot of trouble. Often retreating when things get too rough, she's quite a good escape artist. Being able to quietly slip away by makings a distraction or when the enemy loses sight of her. This has become her biggest annoyance after joining a Hawkin's crew. She wants to get away from overpowering enemies but her Captain and crew often fight and since they're growing on her, she does not want to abandon them, so she is not given much of a choice but to fight. This becomes very apparent when Kizaru shows up, as she appears to want to run but remains close to Hawkins to assist if possible.  

History

Growing up in a decent lifestyle, Aloe was the only girl in four kids. Her brothers often hogged everything and her parents had to always watch and pay attention to them. Aloe, however, did not mind as she enjoyed her time alone either exploring or pranking others. She also showed an interest in medicines and read many books learning. One day she met a traveling Kung Fu master passing through. After watching him demonstrate the Meteor Hammer style, she was blown away by how amazing and elegant it looked, and pleading for him to teach her. He agreed to teach her some moves, but if she showed no talent for it, he would leave. Well, he stayed. And for quite a few years he taught her everything he knew but he was slowed because of his illness. In the later of those years, his sickness would overcome him, after he passed away is when Aloe left. At the age of twenty is when she left to explore more of the Grand Line, hitching rides on shipment vessels. When in need of money she faked fortune-telling to low lives and pirates, some would catch on to her trickery but she would deal with them easily, however, she avoided fights with pirates that have big crews.

Hawkins and his crew stopped on the same island and after hearing others speaking of a fortune teller he decided to check her out, being a fortune teller himself and all. Thinking they were more stupid pirates she began her fake fortune-telling. While in the middle of her fortune-telling, Hawkins pulled out his tarot cards, shuffling and sticking them to the strands. Calling her out on her fake fortunes, Aloe quit her acting and became uneasy and guarded. Hawkins said her escaping was 100% but her chance of death is 50%, after hearing that Aloe bolted. The pirates she tricked earlier heard of her being a fake and got pissed. Ambushing her later that day and beating her they tied her up outside a bar that they were at. While they were in the bar drinking, Hawkins showed up and said that she'll most likely die there. He stated that if she wanted to live she would have to join him, saying that he saw her fight with them and acknowledged her skill also mentioned if they didn't ambush her, she would have likely beat them. "Come and be free or stay and die," he repeated, Aloe really didn't like the idea of becoming a pirate but not much of a choice at the moment. Aloe never liking troublesome situations, but against her own well being she was a lady of her word should she ever make one. She questioned Hawkins if she would really be "free" in which Hawkins made no reply. After a moment she agreed, Hawkins cut her hands down and they both left.

Hawkin's crew did not agree with the idea of her joining, simply brushing them off he stated she was part of the crew now and they departed. The crew ignored her and the captain didn't talk much, nothing she wasn't used to but not having anywhere to escape too was unsettling to her. She often thought of leaving when she had the chance, but never did perhaps out of fear at the time. After some battles and her help with injuries and sickness, the crew started to warm up to her, she was good in battle too, when she actually fought. While the crew began to like her more but she still kept her distance and still felt uneasy. After spending a little more time with her captain and crew she actually started to enjoy their company. Being with the crew for a few months now she loosened up and started to care more for them. And now with their next destination being Sabaody Archipelago, many strong enemies await.
